Two Exceptional Students Awarded Prestigious Arkwright Scholarships!
We are delighted to announce that two of our talented students, Poppy and Alisze have been awarded the prestigious Arkwright Engineering Scholarship. This remarkable achievement recognises their exceptional potential in the field of engineering. The Arkwright Engineering Scholarship is one of the most esteemed accolades available to UK school students aspiring towards careers in engineering, computing, and technical design. The rigorous selection process includes a detailed application, a challenging aptitude exam, and an interview at a top engineering university.
Poppy, from Year 11, impressed the judges with her innovative project regarding magnetic levitating transport. Her passion for engineering was evident throughout the selection process, demonstrating both technical skill and creative problem-solving abilities.
Meanwhile, Alisze stood out with her extraordinary work on aerodynamics and making her own wind tunnel. Her commitment to addressing real-world challenges through engineering solutions particularly caught the attention of the scholarship panel.
As Arkwright Scholars, both students will receive financial support for their studies, exclusive mentoring from industry professionals, and valuable networking opportunities with leading engineering organizations. They will also participate in special events and workshops designed to nurture the next generation of engineering talent. “This is a fantastic opportunity for both the students and recognises how hard they have worked in the last year.
They have really done themselves and our school proud” Mr C Ellis. Curriculum leader of Design and Technology The scholarship will support our students through their A-Levels and provide guidance as they progress toward university education in engineering disciplines. This achievement not only honours Poppy and Alisze but also highlights our school’s commitment to excellence in STEM education.
We look forward to seeing how these talented young engineers develop their skills and contribute to the field in the coming years. We extend our warmest congratulations to our Arkwright Scholars and their families on this outstanding accomplishment.
