The Laurus Trust’s Head of Sporting Excellence, Paul Dickov, and Manchester City’s charity arm City in the Community held a training session at the Etihad Campus for Laurus Ryecroft students ahead of their Tameside schools cup final game next week.
The students completed training drills aimed at building communication and improving teamwork as well as competing in a friendly match at the end of the session. Paul and the City in the Community coaches gave the students match-winning tips and encouraged them to give their all.
Paul said: “This was a great opportunity for the students to learn footballing skills from the CITC coaches and train in a fantastic environment.”
The Laurus Trust strives to create opportunities for its students with experiences in and out of the classroom, levelling the playing field and bridging the gap between state and private schools.
