Students at Laurus Ryecroft put on a spectacular show this week in their production of Lionel Bart’s Oliver! Jr.
Performing three nights in a row, the students gave it their all and left audiences amazed.
A lot of effort went into perfecting the production, from the detailed set design to the many hours of hard work put in by the talented cast.
Lionel Bart’s Oliver! Jr. is the junior version of his classic musical based on Charles Dickens’ novel, Oliver Twist.
The students acted out the famous story of orphan Oliver Twist who, after being sold to a cruel undertaker as an apprentice and later taken in by a group of thieves, faces many obstacles in his quest to find happiness.
The cast brought the story to life with their impressive renditions of familiar musical numbers such as “Consider Yourself” and “Food glorious food”, and were met with a roaring crowd and massive round of applause at the end of each night!
Congratulations to all the students who made Oliver! Jr. a massive success, and thank you to all the production staff for ensuring each night ran smoothly!
