The role of Learning Support Assistants
Our Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) support students in lessons and around school. In primary school, they may have been called a Teaching Assistant or TA. Our LSAs are attached to specific year groups, which allows them to become really familiar with the students that they support and gain a deep understanding of their specific needs.
There are several specialist roles within the team which include:
• Literacy Specialists
• Intervention and Inclusion Specialist
• Social, Emotional and Mental Health Specialist
• Psychometric Testing and Intervention Specialist
Our specialist staff carry out one to one interventions and small group sessions with our students where necessary. They also track and monitor progress data to ensure that students make progress within their respective areas.
