We are delighted to share the news that Parent Governor Anwar Ali has been awarded an OBE for his services to social enterprise.
Anwar, who is originally from Ashton and who has lived and worked in Greater Manchester all his life, is the co-founder and managing director of Upturn Enterprise Ltd, which he set up in 2004.
Through his company, he has worked with disadvantaged communities, breaking down barriers and creating opportunities to help people unlock their talent and potential.
Over the years, he has helped individuals with their employability, supported start-up and fledgling businesses and transformed communities.
Anwar is an incredible asset to Laurus Ryecroft and the surrounding communities and we are so pleased that he has received such prestigious recognition for the difference he has made to people’s lives.
