Rootshell Security – School Careers Event: Bridging the Gap Between Education and Cybersecurity Careers.

On January 15th, Computer Science students from KS4 and KS5 had the unique opportunity to attend a careers event focused on cybersecurity, hosted by Rootshell Security via Teams. The event aimed to introduce students to the fast-paced and ever-evolving world of cybersecurity, providing them with the knowledge and inspiration needed to explore this crucial and rewarding industry.

Rootshell Security, a leading cybersecurity firm known for its cutting-edge solutions in network protection, threat intelligence, and incident response, showcased a variety of career paths within the cybersecurity field. VP of Global Threats Shaun Peapall delivered a presentation and explained different cyber security issues, including ethical hacking, penetration testing, security analysis, and  computer forensics, sharing his insights and personal stories as well as the skills and qualifications necessary to succeed in this high-demand industry.

Once Shaun had told a couple of fascinating stories within the cyber security industry he opened the floor up to questions from students.
The Laurus Ryecroft Computing Department and it’s students are incredibly grateful for the time and effort Shaun put into delivering this careers event and we send our thanks to him and his team.
